Chagga Village

This painting is impressionistic master piece of The Mwanzo Collection. "Chagga Village" represent ethnographical feature of Chagga people in Arusha, the village under Mt. Kilimanjaro. In the detail of this painting, everyone in this picture were women or children. Reason for this can be found from life of Chagga people, children do small chores around the village: boys' duty is ranching and girls' duty is grinding corn. Then, womens' duty is managing children and village, while men went for hunting.
