WAY TO MWANZO: BEGINNING
In the summer of 2022, I travelled to Tanzania to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. At the mountaintop, I felt empowered, having conquered one of the highest mountains in the world. However, while spending time afterwards in the towns of rural Tanzania, I noticed many talented local artists struggling to make ends meet. I knew I wanted to do something for them, so I started Mambo Jambo!
HOW MWANZO WORKS
First, I make sure to keep in touch with the artists. First and foremost, building trust is important. Next, we discuss what we need to raise funds for. We decide on a vision & goals and start choosing the art. Then, we wait for the artwork to arrive in South Korea. We showcase the prices via our gallery or public events. Finally, we pay the artists and update our donors on what their funds are being used for.
